Leave it alone
There may not be a good enough reason to spend time or money on it right now.
Before you spend money on your website, check you're solving the right problem.
You probably already have an idea about what needs fixing — a redesign, better SEO, different content, a new feature, more enquiries. Or maybe the website just isn’t doing what you need it to do.
The useful question is whether that’s actually the problem. In half an hour, we’ll look at what’s happening, what the business needs from the website, and what — if anything — deserves more attention.
It isn’t an automated audit or a list of things I want to sell you. If the answer is to leave it alone, I’ll say so.
A clearer sense of what you’re dealing with, and what — if anything — makes sense to do next.
There may not be a good enough reason to spend time or money on it right now.
If there’s an important question but not enough evidence to answer it, I may recommend a paid Review.
If the problem is clear, the sensible next step may simply be to make the change — yourself, with your existing supplier, or through a Bold Wise Action.
I won’t spend hours beforehand analysing analytics or compiling recommendations, and I won’t pretend 30 minutes is enough to diagnose a complex problem.
If something is obvious, I’ll tell you.
If it needs proper investigation, I’ll tell you that too.
I’ve spent more than twenty-five years understanding, designing, building and improving websites and digital products.
That breadth is useful here: I don’t need your website to turn out to have an SEO problem, a design problem or a technical problem. I can look across it, understand how it connects to the business, and help work out what actually deserves attention.
