Turning complex fleet and EV data into usable digital tools
A leading international fleet and mobility business needed to make complex EV and fleet information more accessible to their customers. The information existed, but it was difficult to navigate, hard to act on, and disconnected from real decision-making.
The opportunity
Fleet and EV transition brings real complexity: costs, tax, infrastructure, vehicle choice, policy changes. For customers, the friction was appearing at exactly the moment they needed clarity. For the business, it was limiting the value of the content they were already producing.
The opportunity was to turn that content into something that actively supported decisions rather than sitting alongside them.
What I did
The work focused on two connected areas: structuring their news portal, and developing a suite of interactive tools that made the content genuinely useful.
News portal
I worked on structuring and building the news portal as a clearer, more usable destination for content. The focus was on making information easier to navigate and act on, organised around real customer questions and use cases rather than internal taxonomy. The portal was also designed to support embedded tools and external integrations without becoming tightly coupled to any single system.
Interactive tools
Alongside the portal, I designed and developed a series of interactive tools covering EV readiness, fleet costs and related decision-making. These translated complex inputs into simple outputs: cost comparisons, recommendations and clear next steps.
The tools were built to work across multiple environments and integrate with third-party systems for lead capture and follow-up. That required balancing usability with practical constraints around hosting, security and integration.
Rebrand and organisational change
The engagement spanned a significant period of organisational change, including a full rebrand. I supported the continuity of both through that transition, ensuring the tools and portal remained coherent and on-brand as the business evolved.
The outcome
A shift from static information to usable tools. The news portal became a clearer entry point into a complex topic, while the tools allowed users to move from understanding to action. Together they created a more effective bridge between the business's expertise and their customers' decisions, turning content into something that actively supported sales conversations.
The tools were subsequently adapted for third-party broker websites and internationalised for French, Italian and German markets. They ran for multiple years, attracted tens of thousands of visits annually, and some versions remain live today.
